Nevada Office of Traffic Safety Releases July 2026 State Fatal Report

The Nevada Office of Traffic Safety released its July 2026 Statewide Fatal Report, and the numbers have increased compared to this time last year. In July 2026, 31 lives were claimed on Nevada’s roadways compared to 30 in July 2025, marking a 3.33% increase. So far in 2026, there have been 199 road fatalities in Nevada, marking a decrease of 13.48%. While the overall number of fatalities has declined, the continued loss of life serves as a reminder that safer driving choices and increased awareness can help prevent crashes.
With the new school year approaching, the Nevada Office of Traffic Safety is reminding drivers and pedestrians to use extra caution as children, families and school traffic return to roadways. Drivers must slowdown in school zones, watch for children crossing streets and be especially alert near school drop-off and pick-up areas. Pedestrians and bicyclists should use designated crossings, follow traffic signals and stay aware of their surroundings. Whether behind the wheel or on foot, taking a few extra moments to stay alert can help make the back-to-school season safer for everyone.
Attached is the state’s July Fatal Report in full. Please note that this report is a point in time comparison. 2026 data is preliminary and does not necessarily include final reports (Form 5, Coroner, and/or Toxicology reports). 2026 data will not be final until early 2028.
