LAS VEGAS (Sept. 21, 2026) – Last Friday, over 1,500 volunteers came together for the 11th annual United Way of Southern Nevada (UWSN) Day of Caring, presented by PNC Bank. For over a decade, UWSN has united local nonprofits, schools and partners to provide crucial support to the Southern Nevada community and bring volunteers together to make a lasting impact.
The event once again kicked off with a celebration at Town Square Park, where volunteers gathered before taking on over 50 volunteer projects across the valley.
“Neighbors showing up for neighbors. That’s what Day of Caring is all about,” said Samuel Rudd, President & CEO of UWSN. “Every volunteer who showed up was sending a simple message to our community: You matter. For more than a decade, that spirit has helped strengthen Southern Nevada and create lasting change for nonprofits across the valley.”
“This year’s Day of Caring was a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when we come together to serve our community,” said Denette Suddeth, PNC regional president and head of Commercial Banking for Nevada. “Seeing volunteers roll up their sleeves to support local organizations reflects the spirit that makes Southern Nevada such a remarkable place. PNC is proud to be part of these efforts and to help create lasting, positive change for our neighbors.”
“At Barclays US Consumer Bank US, we believe meaningful change happens when people come together with a shared commitment to serve. The United Way of Southern Nevada’s Day of Caring gives our colleagues an opportunity mobilize, roll up their sleeves, and make a tangible difference for our neighbors alongside our community partners. We are proud to continue supporting this powerful day of service and the stronger, more connected Southern Nevada community it helps create.”— DeAndre Esteen, Vice President, Contact Center Site Coordinator, Barclays Bank US
“Southern Nevada is a community built on people showing up for one another, and Day of Caring brings that spirit to life,” said Stephanie Gaywood, vice president of community for the Athletics. “The A’s are proud to stand alongside United Way of Southern Nevada, our partners and the volunteers who are giving their time and energy to make a true difference. As we become part of this community, we’re committed to being an organization that shows up, gets involved and gives back to the people and organizations that make Southern Nevada special.”
This year’s volunteers worked on an array of projects, including enhancing school gardens, crafting wellness packages for those in need, caring for pets in need of homes and much more. The efforts from this year’s Day of Caring will impact thousands of families, students, and individuals across the Southern Nevada community.
UWSN’s Day of Caring is made possible by PNC Bank, Barclays, The Athletics, Light & Wonder, Aristocrat, Greenberg Traurig and CareSource.
