LAS VEGAS (March 24, 2026) – In celebration of Earth Day, Green Our Planet will host the nation’s largest student-run farmers market on Wednesday, April 22, from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin, where over 600 student “Farmpreneurs” from 56 Clark County School District schools will sell locally grown produce and handmade goods to the community.
Now in its 13th year, the Giant Student Farmers Market brings Green Our Planet’s mission to life by giving students the opportunity to turn hands-on learning into real-world action. Through the organization’s school garden and hydroponics programs, students gain practical experience in STEM, sustainability, nutrition, entrepreneurship, financial literacy and marketing, then put those skills to work by running their own market booths. Proceeds from the market will be reinvested into participating schools’ garden programs.
“Earth Day is a reminder that when young people are given the chance to connect with the planet in a meaningful way, they rise to the occasion with creativity, leadership and purpose,” said Ciara Byrne, co-founder and CEO of Green Our Planet. “The Giant Student Farmers Market is about much more than selling produce. It is about students discovering their own power to grow something, build something and contribute something of value to their communities.”
Since launching in 2013, Green Our Planet has grown into one of the largest school garden and hydroponics education programs in the United States, working in over 1,300 schools in 44 states, helping students develop not only academic and STEM skills, but also confidence, teamwork, business experience and a deeper sense of environmental stewardship.
The presenting sponsor of the 2026 Spring Giant Student Farmers Market is Credit One Bank, a proud supporter of Green Our Planet’s “Farmpreneur” and school garden programs across the Clark County School District. Additional support for the event is provided by Las Vegas Sands Cares, Cox Communications, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Clark County School District, Howard Hughes, Lazy Dog, Western Alliance Bank and Aristocrat.
“Credit One Bank is proud to support the Giant Student Farmers Market and the incredible students behind it,” said Tanisha Perry, senior manager of facilities at Credit One Bank. “We are honored to be part of an initiative that speaks to our mission by investing in the next generation and helping students turn their ideas into meaningful impact.”
For the second consecutive year, Green Our Planet is also honored to receive support from The Garden Foundation, whose staff and volunteers will help distribute breakfast from Dig It! Coffee Co., a local coffee shop that provides job training and mentorship for adults with disabilities.
Attendees can also enjoy special appearances by Spruce, mascot of the Las Vegas Aviators, and Bucket$, mascot of the Las Vegas Aces.
By shopping at the market, community members directly support student-led learning and help strengthen school garden programs that benefit students, schools and communities for years to come.
