It’s not every day you run into a show on the Strip that continues to entertain and amaze! I have been lucky enough to work on such an incredible show, which also happens to be a personal favorite of mine. The wildly funny, outlandish and remarkable show, Absinthe at Caesars Palace has continued to delight and excite both critics and audiences alike. After taking a short hiatus, the mega-hit show returned to Las Vegas in a newly designed tent structure made suitable for all seasons. I absolutely LOVE the newly transformed and “re-imagined” Spiegeltent! All of the lovely knick knacks that were once outside in the beer garden have been moved inside to give the space character and originality, making it so exciting to watch the acts in. And the wonderful cast of talented performers never cease to thrill and captivate as they perform their jaw-dropping acts in the same intimate setting as before.
I still laugh at every joke The Gazillionaire and Penny Pibbets spout out of their foul mouths; cringe every time I see Maxim’s mountain chair act or the Esteemed Gentlemen of the Highwire; brought to tears of laughter with Ivan and Ivana’s Caesarian Ballet; fall in love with Ssens Duo’s ever-so-sexy trapeze act; and continue to be blown away by Duo Vector’s strength act. Then of course, there’s the element of surprise (and sometimes shock) that you get from the “What Would You Do for a Free Shot of Absinthe” interval, where The Gazillionaire brings a few audience members onstage to see how far they would go for a free drink. I’ll just leave it at that and let your imagination take it from there. Every time I see the show, it’s like I’m experiencing it for the very first time because you never get the same show twice.
Absinthe has also attracted a variety of celebrities as well, ranging from stars such as “Entourage’s” Adrian Grenier, Playboy Playmate Jessa Hinton, Bravo TV’s “Millionaire Matchmaker” couple Destin and Rachel, Perez Hilton, Ice-T and Coco, and David Arquette, just to name a few. This is quite an impressive list of attendees, if I don’t say so myself.
With the show’s daring performances and raucous comedy, it’s no wonder that Absinthe continues to receive impressive reviews and praise, which makes me extremely proud to be a part of such an extraordinary show. This is definitely THE show in Vegas where you can leave your inhibitions at the door, sit back with a cocktail or two, and enjoy the wildly unpredictable entertainment that audiences have come to know and love!
